Ghana · Since 2012

Every child deserves a childhood. Every mind deserves care.

Bluebird Kids Foundation & Mental Health works for underprivileged children and for people living with mental health conditions in Ghana — with food, care, dignity and a long-term plan to build the mental health facility this country deserves.

Our vision

A Ghana where every child is safe and well — and mental health care carries no shame.

Our mission

We improve the lives of deprived children and people living with mental health conditions through compassionate care, education, healthcare, rehabilitation, advocacy and sustainable community development.

What we do

Three commitments, one promise

The work is practical before it is anything else: a meal, a clean shave, a hospital visit, a school fee. Everything larger is built on that.

Protect

Children first

Nutrition, healthcare access, education support and child protection for children growing up without a safety net.

The long-term goal

A mental health and rehabilitation center built for recovery

Our Founder came to this work through his own experience of mental health care — as a patient in a purpose-built hospital in the United States, and as a building professional who could see exactly why the architecture mattered.

Bluebird's long-term goal is a Ghanaian center of excellence that brings those standards home: clinical care, rehabilitation, recreational therapy, vocational training and community reintegration under one roof.

Get involved

Small gifts, real days like this one

A donation pays for the food, clothing and grooming supplies that make an outreach day possible — and builds toward the center. You can also give your time, or partner with us at scale.
